A Tournament Policies

 

ELIGIBILITY: Entries are open to amateur golfers who have an active and established Handicap Index® that has been issued only from an AGA member “golf club” (as defined in the World Handicap System™ “Rules of Handicapping”) which is licensed to use the World Handicap System. Or, for bona fide residents of the State of Alaska, who have an active and established Handicap Index® issued from a AGAGolf licensed member “golf club.”

All applications will be reviewed by the AGA to verify that each entrant has an official USGA Handicap Index® from an AGA member club or course.

Any amateur whose name does not appear on the AGA’s handicap roster will be ineligible and their entry application and entry fee will be returned minus the administration fee.

 

 THE AGA WILL NOT ACCEPT LATE ENTRY APPLICATIONS OR FAXED ENTRY APPLICATIONS.

 

 REFUNDS:  No refunds for any reason (except for illness or injury) will be issued after 5:00 p.m. AST on the evening before the first round of the respective competition. Requests for a refund due to illness or injury will be treated on a case-by-case basis and can include illness or injury of a spouse or child. All refunds will be subject to a $50.00 withdrawal fee.

 

 PRIZES:  Gross & Net prizes will be awarded.  Teams will not be allowed to compete for net prizes if both players do not have fully established handicaps with at least 20 scores posted to their handicap record.

 

RULES OF GOLF:  Play will be governed by the Rules of Golf.  All questions shall be settled by the Committee in charge of the competition, whose decision is final.

 

 CONDUCT CODE:  Penalties for breach of sportsmanship code (to include but not limited to property damage, abusive language, club throwing, excessive drinking or gambling) may include censure, suspension or revocation of playing privilege, along with forfeiture of entry fees.

 

 AGA DRESS CODE: Contestants must abide by the AGA dress code during practice and championship rounds. Shirts must have collars and sleeves and should be tucked in; tailored shorts or pants.

 

Penalty for breach of AGA dress code - may be expelled from the Championship and/or suspended from future AGA championships.

 

FOOTWEARTraditional type spikes, such as metal, are prohibited at all practice rounds and at the championship rounds. Penalty for breach of this condition of play is disqualification.
